Objectives
The aim of our project is to identify the prerequisites for the successful implementation of a tutoring program aimed at improving reading skills in primary-school pupils, practice the first steps of its implementation and establish the necessary conditions for its permanent operation, improvement and distribution.
To this end, we are currently developing the prototype of a German-language learning platform and testing its use in a small number of primary schools.
At the same time, we are working on an implementation plan and funding strategy for the further development of the program in order to ensure the sustainability of the project beyond its initial funding phase.
Ultimately, we aim to implement a permanent, academically sound tutoring program that has proven benefits in its original version. It is intended as a concrete support measure for disadvantaged children at German schools not just during times of crisis but in the long term.
We want to facilitate a significant innovation in education, one which could be highly relevant for decoupling a child’s origin from their educational achievements, a situation that is particularly prevalent in the German educational system despite societal demands to the contrary.
